Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen had a book signing of their fashion book, "Influence", at Borders in Westwood yesterdays. The 21 year old fashionistas created the book, interviewing the "most challeging and creative people" they know and who have influenced them. The book includes never before seen interviews and materials from their collection.
I don't have the book, however, I'm very interested in reading it. These two have been in the spotlight for quite a while and are heavily influenced by fashion. (Pun intended.) Their clothing line, Elizabeth and James, has been out for a few years making impact not only on their generation but the fashion world as well. I enjoy because it's not like other clothing lines that celebrities put out - thoughtless, cheaply made and gimmicky. Instead, E & J is sophisticated, chic and affordable (well kind of, depending on if you consider $600 accessories "affordable"...)
Nonetheless, the line is contemporary and wearable which makes it respectable in my book.
