Being the thoughtful and ambitious person that I am, I'm always planning to do something great - to get more money, get another job, start another business. But with all the time I take out to plan over and over again, I could actually be doing something. Don't get me wrong, planning is good. But it's only a piece of the PIE (plan, implement, execute). You should have A plan, not too many and it's definitely more successful to do more doing than it is to do more planning. So, I'm gonna do my best to just do it from now on.

I heard this today and had to share. You’d think with the new Weezy and N.E.R.D. albums dropping today that that’s what I would be talking about but no, of course I’m talking about the new Jay-Z freestyle.

First of all, I love the beat! But the above line really stands out to me because after the Sean Bell verdict I have had a HUGE reality check about race and the legal system in this country. Anyways, I love and respect the fact that Jay put that out there and didn’t let that topic stay unheard in the hip-hop community. The line itself kind of says if it affects one of us, it affects all.

Look your girl here has been doing her best to move on up in the world by starting her own business, go back to school and achieve the many goals that are on her list for 2008.

We've already reached the halfway mark of the year (can you believe it's June already?) and things need to get done! That being said, I've recognized that anything that can make me better (at whatever it is I want to do) I want and NEED to be a part of. Whether it's a class, meeting or even a conference call I am willing and waiting to learn more to get to that next level. I plan on showing up!

I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want to get better. To stop learning is to hinder yourself. So people show up to whatever event or lesson you need to, to get yourself where you want to be. Only 5 1/2 months left in the year and we're not getting any younger. I know I'm not.

Let's show up and go up!

I totally agree yet disagree which officially makes me a Gemini :) I was thinking today about how incredibly happy I am. I have a job (it's not perfect but pays my bills), a roof over my head, clothes on my back, a loving family, awesome friends and a great man in my life. But I wondered had I not made the choices I made in my life including the wrong ones would I have ended up where I am today. I don't believe in mistakes but every choice we make and everything that happens occurs for a reason. It's our destiny, our fate. And so even if we make not so smart choices that put us with our backs against the wall and in the end we fulfill the purpose that God had for us in the first place, is our fate really a mistake?
