Happy Birthday Britney Spears

So today marks Britney Spears’ 27th birthday and the release of her sixth studio album, Circus. She performed on ‘Good Morning America’ this morning and has been promoting her new album all over the world since last week. I must say that I am so glad to see Britney doing her thing again. (And I’m also impressed with her body after two children but that’s neither here or there.)

Anyways, I’m just now getting back on the blogging grind since last week – I’m sure all of us watch her documentary, For The Record on MTV Sunday evening. It was thoroughly refreshing to see Britney as a real person…getting back on her feet. I felt her when she said she was sad but that’s understandable with the life she leads and the choices she’s made the last few years. She took responsibility for those choices and you can only respect the woman for that. I’m sure we’ve all made choices that if they were documented for the entire world to see we would be considered a jackass.

On the other hand, I thought it was very interesting that MTV started taping the documentary the day before the VMA’s and she won all the awards she was nominated for that evening.

Coincidence? I think not.

But that’s just one of the many wonders of the music business. Since the days of TRL, Britney has always been the “princess” of MTV. I hope that Circus gives Britney the comeback she deserves. No matter what though, she’s human so I’m rooting for to succeed.

Anyways, if you haven’t caught the documentary it’s online, on demand and I’m sure MTV will be airing it again all this week. Since Sunday I believe it’s been on like 5 more times.

Ohhhhh, MTV. My love-hate relationship with you continues.
