As I've said before I absolutely LOVE Kanye West's album, 808's & Heartbreak. I believe it's ABSOLUTELY genius and it's easily in one of my top five favorite albums. I was checking out his blog and he posted the video for his song, "Welcome to Heartbreak". It's not the next single ("Amazing" featuring Young Jeezy is) off the album but this is a pretty innovative video.

FASHION WEEK: Barbie Collection

Last night was the Barbie collection fashion show. Honestly, just from the pictures alone I'm in heaven. You know how much I like pink (obviously). A series of designers - Diane Von Furstenburg, Kimora Lee Simmons, Betsey Johnson, etc. - created their ideal outfit for the doll celebrating the 50th anniversary of Barbie.

There's a lot going on. EVERYWHERE. In NYC, you've got Mercedes Benz Fashion Week that began on Friday. On the west coast, it's award season with the Grammys wrapping up and the Oscars about to take place. You've also got NBA All Star weekend taking place in Arizona right now and of course this weekend LOVE was in the air with Valentine's Day. Hope everyone had an awesome weekend and had an even more fabulous Valentine's Day!

So, after the car incident (turns out everything is fine...just a little glitch in the battery), the fiance and had a talk. I came to a realization: I have a lot going on, but nonetheless I'm really blessed. I've been working hard - SO HARD - but sure enough it's been paying off. I absolutely adore this dress. Kelly Ripa looks great - although personally I think she could gain a few pounds...that's neither here or there - it's very pink, girly...which makes it really Mattie.

Courtney Cox pulls off such a great look - I like this dress a lot. It can be worn to a nice dinner, red carpet event and shoes compliment it very well. Very put together. Two thumbs up.

Grammys: What I Liked

So, last night were the Grammys. Honestly, it was an all around good show. Decent performances - my favorite was the "Swagga Like Us" performance with Kanye, Jay, Wayne, T.I. and M.I.A, who by the way was due last night(she's 9 months pregnant). I love the "Rap Pack"...they all looked very dapper. I also enjoyed Radiohead, Coldplay, Lil Wayne and Smokey Robinson's performances.

I'm sure you heard of the drama. If not: Both Chris Brown and Rihanna were both supposed to perform at the Grammys but both dropped out hours before the show after an altercation Saturday night. Full story.

Love this dress. Something's a little off about it. Maybe the faux tan. Her performance. Not so great.

All I've got to say is Miley Cyrus has got a damn good stylist. It's hard to go wrong in sophisticated black.

Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland. Love this dress. The bust line is very flattering and it's chic without trying too hard.

You guys know how I feel about Carrie. She can do no wrong in my book. She continues to prove me right.

Plus, I love a sparkly dress.

It didn't photograph as well as it looked live on camera, but Kate Beckinsale takes the cake. The. Best. Dress. Of. The. Night.

I can't wait for Confessions of a Shopaholic starring Isla Fisher. I never read the book (hardly doubt I will) but I am definitely gonna check out the film. The movie was styled by styling genius Patricia Field (of Sex and the City).

The girls and I are supposed to do dinner this Friday when the movie hits theatres. Maybe we can all go see it afterwards.

So, I decided to act like a blogger tonight and go through my Wire Image account. And guess what? I almost forgot the Grammys are on tomorrow. It's like a ritual of mine to watch the Grammys and critique them. Yes, I know. I'm so cool. (by cool, I mean not really.) Anyways, there were a bunch of events going in LA this past week and weekend - like Style Suites, rehearsals and pre-Grammy parties - and came across some pics. Above Rihanna and Kanye pose for a pic at Timbaland's Grammy party which EVERYONE in the music business attended.

Love, love, LOVE Janelle Monae! Talk about a breath of fresh music air...

Now, maybe I'm mistaken...but I don't think Solange got nominated for a Grammy and that is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. Ri.Effin.Diculous. I'm not naming any names but her album was better than all the female R&B albums nominated this year. Every single one of them.

So excited to see Jennifer Hudson back on the scene after her tragedy. Not sure if you caught the Super Bowl, but if you didn't you missed one of the BEST renditions of the national anthems performed by Miss Hudson. Phenomenal.

So as I mentioned last week I just started my internship at 790 The Zone, the top sports radio station in Atlanta. I'm in promotions and marketing, so basically any event that goes on...I have a lot of planning to do. Like the AFC/NFC championship game we're planning for 1500 people this Sunday...I'll be working from 9a to midnight on Sunday. Life as intern. I won't lie though, this is one the best companies to work for and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I wanted to this SO BAD.

Life as an intern isn't exactly how Lauren's life was on 'The Hills' but hey I'll take it.

Anne Hathaway had such a fabulous dress on for last night's 14th Annual Critics' Choice Awards. Hathaway, whose new movie (Bride Wars) hits theatres today, was on Vogue's best dressed list this year.

Rightfully so.

InStyle held an event in Beverly Hills on behalf of award season last night. There were so many cute dress and great shoes that I decided to share all of the looks I enjoyed. Here's Debra Messing in a saucy navy blue number...I haven't decided if I really like it or if it's trying too hard.

Review: Cadillac Records

I must admit. I didn’t really want to see Cadillac Records after seeing the trailer. For whatever reason (Beyonce’s mediocre acting efforts), I was a bit skeptical. But I couldn’t have been more wrong.

This was a really good movie. I don’t even have anything deep or artistic to say about it. People were just acting real good in this movie. They weren’t acting well…they were acting good. Jeffrey Wright was absolutely brilliant as Muddy Waters. His performance was one of the best out of the cast. Adrien Brody delivered as expected and Beyonce actually did a good job. She was believable – to some extent there were moments where she just looked like beautiful Beyonce in a wig – but I have to give it to her. After this performance, I can seriously consider her an actress. (My favorite part: whenever she dropped the F bomb.)

There were many people in this movie: Gabrielle Union, Emmanuelle Chirqui, Cedric the Entertainer. But I do believe the diamond in the ruff was Columbus Short as Little Walter. He was genius. I didn’t even know he was in the film and he blew me away. Aside from Jeffrey, he was hands down the strongest actor in the movie.

If you haven’t seen and especially if you enjoy music, YOU MUST GO SEE THIS MOVIE. I highly recommend it. However, don’t take any young ones to go see it. The only downer about this movie is that there were a lot of unnecessarily exposed breasts and people using the eff word along with ‘mother effer’.

Aside from that though, it was flawless.

The Importance of Skin Care

With the kind of skin I have, skin care is vital. Everyone should have this attitude, but they don’t. Not necessarily because they don’t care, but because they’re ignorant. I’ve had numerous conversation where people are telling me they just wash their face with soap and water and then wonder why they’re having problems with their skin. I’m here to help.

KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE. Figure out what kind of skin you have. Is it oily? Do you bother from many blemishes? Is it dry? Both? Sometimes dry then sometimes oily? Once you get to the root of your skin you’ll know how to deal with it.

CLEANSE. Wash your face with at least twice a day. No questions asked. If you’re in a field where your face is exposed to dirt, oil or make up on a daily basis you may want to up it to 3 times a day. Don’t use soap…at least Dove. Find a cleanser that works for you and stick with it. And make sure you’re using the right one. If you have oily skin, make sure the cleanser isn’t for normal/dry skin.

EXFOLIATE. You should at most be exfoliating your skin twice a week, definitely once a week. Even if you have “perfect” skin, you’ll just feel better if you do it. If you have problem skin, your pores will thank you. Make sure you’re not scrubbing your skin senseless, but instead getting rid of dead skin on your face.

PROTECT. Many people don’t even address this step but it’s really important. No matter what race you are, what season it is or how good or bad your skin is, you should use sunscreen. Exposing your skin to the sun without protection is like playing Russian roulette. It will age faster and your chances of skin cancer are greater. Even if it’s just basic SPF (should be at least 15) slap a little on your face before applying moisturizer.

MOISTURIZE. Just like your cleanser find the right one for you, don’t just slap on lotion or Vaseline. There are tons of great options at your local drug store or do your research to see which one would work best for you. If you’ve got oily or problem skin a lot of cosmetic brands offer a moisturizing gel, which is less oily and abrasive than your typical moisturizer.

Hopefully, I’ve helped. If you’ve still got questions, ask for answers from someone you know who has really great skin. And you never know…they may not even have good skin, just great skin care.

Getting Back on Track

This is probably the 100th article you’ve read about starting your New Year off right and getting back on the wagon. Hell, even Oprah’s fallen off. But it’s not about how many times you fall off; it’s how many times you get back up again.

“Fall down seven times, stand up eight.”

REFLECT.
Stop and realize why you want to start all over again…why you want to work towards your goal. More importantly, what’s the real reason you fell off in the first place? Why do you want this? When do you want to get there? Do you want it for someone else or do you want it for yourself? It’s imperative to know the answers to these questions so you don’t repeat the mistake.

REFOCUS.
Keep your eye on the prize. Get rid of all distractions; eliminate anything and anybody that will try to stop you. KNOW WHAT YOU WANT. It’s very necessary. Then, make a plan to get there. (Make it realistic, will ya?) If you’re giving yourself a year to get there, then take it week by week. Better yet, take it day by day. It’s all a part of the puzzle. Plan, implement, execute. It’ll all come together in the end…if you follow the plan!

REJUVENATE.
Get fired up, get excited, get back in the game! Take classes. Find a mentor. Create a journal. Make a goal poster. Do whatever takes to get you going – to ultimate place where you are eating, sleeping and breathing your dream/goal.

REEVALUATE.
Think about your routine before you fell off. Analyze what worked for you and what didn’t. Incorporate what did work in your daily routine and add on to it. Whatever didn’t work, figure out why and never do it again.

RECOMMIT.
Address your goal as if this was the first time you committed to it. Take it and yourself very seriously. Set yourself a deadline and let just a couple of friends or family members know when it is so they can hold you accountable. Solemnly swear to never talk about or come across this problem again.

My Wedding Dress: The Search Is On

Here's the dress I've finally selected for my bridesmaids! It feels good to have made a choice. It's also a really good price.

Also, we've selected what tuxedos the guys will rent and the fiance has already been measured for his tux. After much discussion and a preliminary list, we've estimated that 300 people will probably witness our nuptials. (Our families alone came to over 200 people.)

So with that being said finding a venue and my dress is CRITICAL! But I have made the decision to have an outdoor wedding. (Pray for good weather...) If not, what about this for the recption indoors?

Nope. No wedding dress yet, but I will be attending the annual "Running of the Brides" sale at Filene's here in Atlanta on March 20. Am I crazy? Yes, maybe a little but me and the girls are having shirts made and going on a mission. THIS DRESS WILL BE FOUND.

Hopefully...

Anyways, I'm off to look at lots with the fiance. Yes, that's right. In addition, to a massive wedding, we're attempting to build our first home. In a recession.

Review: Seven Pounds

As much as I love Will Smith, his new movie, Seven Pounds, just didn't do it for me. To tell you the truth, I think it tried a little too hard.

Not too long ago, I got into a debate with the fiance about Will Smith wanting to win an Oscar. He doesn't think he'll do it and I argue he will, but after this movie. I'm not so sure. Let me be clear. I enjoy Will as an actor. He's funny, smart, entertaining - the quintessential movie star - but I didn't see any of the above qualities in the movie. It's safe to say that this was his darkest role yet.

The film moved along really slow but was yet predictable. I think for the most part anyone who saw the film knew what was going to happen at the end. It had a great story, but it was executed poorly. Chopping up the story to build suspense wasn't the way to go. Had it just shown in a normal timeline, I would have enjoyed the movie even more. Either way, I still figured out what was going to happen. Rosario Dawson's performance didn't do it for me either. And I like her.

With its thorough effort to be deep and be one of the movies the talk of Tinseltown - earning Globe and Oscar nominations inevitably - it really fell flat. Surprisingly, I haven't read anything good or bad about the movie. Will was on Oprah the week before it came out which is truthfully the only reason I went out and saw the film. The trailer didn't do anything for me, it doesn't give any clues and neither did Will anytime he was questioned about it during an interview. But I see why now.

There was nothing to talk about.

If you haven't seen yet because your schedule hasn't allowed you...don't. Just wait until it goes to RedBox and rent it for $1. That's really all it's worth.

Dating on a Budget

Being in a recession during your relationship can kind of…what’s the word I’m looking for…suck. But don’t fret, if you’re trying to save a few extra dollars and maintain a lively relationship there’s good news. You can actually do things yourself, stay in at the house, meticulously plan in advance, enjoy the outdoors and use what you got. Yes, really. It can be done. Here’s how:

Do It Yourself. Here’s an idea. Instead of going out to dinner, why don’t save yourself money and cook it yourself. I know. Crazy idea. If you don’t know what the hell you’re doing, grab your honey and cook together. It ends up being fun and funny – lots of inside jokes will be born – and you actually get exactly what you want to eat because you’re the one making it. And the groceries you’ll buy to make what you were going to order at that snobby downtown restaurant will cost you a fraction of what you were going to pay. Mention that to your honey and he’ll be all over the DIY dinner.

Be A Homebody. It doesn’t matter how big or small your place of dwelling is. If you keep it clean enough, invite people over. Usually when you get a group of people over, you can end up having a good time for free – or close to it. Have a game night. One of my favorite things to do is invite a group of friends over and play Taboo. One night we had about 20 people over in our one bedroom apartment playing Taboo until 2am. It was good times. You can do a movie night, watch the big game or have a themed dinner party (like Fiesta night!) Have certain people bring refreshments or make certain dishes since you’re supplying your house. A lot of the time, you end up having a much better time then getting all dolled up, paying $20 at some door to impress people you don’t even know.

Plan In Advance. Ok, I get it. You can’t stay in the house and do it yourself all the time. But for those times you do go out, make sure you plan. It’s a great way to avoid surprise expenses. Wanna see that new movie in theatres on Friday? Order your tickets online to avoid the long line when you get there. Make reservations, especially on weekends to avoid the wait. If you’re taking a trip, the earlier you get your tickets the cheaper they’ll be. It’s the same thing with tickets to a sporting event, concert or show – if you know about take advantage. Not only will it save you a lot of time, but you know what they say: time is money.

The Great Outdoors. Seriously, the world is at your disposal. Take advantage of it! Go for a bike ride, take a walk on the beach, have a picnic in the park – these are all readily available things for us to do for free. If you guys both like basketball, hit up an outdoor court and play one on one. People watching is one of the funniest things to do. You can also take pictures of the city, go window shopping at an outlet mall or visit historical landmarks of where you live. The possibilities are endless. So next time your sweetie tells you there’s nothing to do, tell him to take a hike. Literally.

Show Me What You Got. Use what you got. You’ve probably got a lot more “wealth” at your fingertips than you recognize. When you go anywhere ask if they have a student discount, then show them your awesome student ID (no matter if you graduated, as long as you still have it) and reap the benefits. Gift cards to restaurants are your best friend. The fiancé had a gift card that he hadn’t used for a year. One night we didn’t feel like cooking (or spending money for that matter) and we used that gift card. It was one of the better dinners we’ve had and all we had to pay for was a tip. The clothes are better...it's not as completely mindless as 'The Hills' and Whitney works for Diane Von Furstenburg. Olivia is a far better antagonist than Spencer and New York is, and always will be, better than the west coast.

I really enjoy Lauren's style...very seldom does she disappoint. She's very laid back yet stylish without trying too hard. What's not to love about that?

New Year, New Beginnings

Dear World,

It's officially 2009 and most of us have made resolutions. Some of us have one or two while others have concocted an entire list of things to do that we may never get to. But this year I challenge myself (and everyone reading this) to change for the better. Change is instantaneous and a choice. I'm choosing to be myself at my best no matter how hard it may be. Here's a few things I plan on working on/changing in 2009

strengthening my relationship with God: clearly this is at the top of my list. This doesn't mean going to church more (necessarily) but instead praying more, reading the Bible and having much more faith!

being in my best body ever: that doesn't mean losing or gaining weight per se but just looking and feeling good

having the wedding of my dreams: every girl has thought of this day but in real life, weddings cost beaucoup bucks but I'm not going to let that dictate the fabulosity of the day

starting a web show: this is something I've wanted to do for a couple of months now and after thorough planning, the help of great friends and vast tenacity this resolution may turn into real life as soon as next week

building my first home: it's something that the Fiance has always wanted to do and now I share that same dream

NETWORKING: just got a new internship and plan on networking my butt off while I'm there...

maintaining and cherishing relationships: I have a great family, becoming a part of an awesome one and over the years I have had some really great friendships with people who I don't necessarily see or speak to everyday but because of these people I've been the happiest I've ever been. My ultimate goal is to keep it that way.

I guess all in all what I'm trying to say is that change isn't bad. And I'm not doing it because it's what I'm "supposed" to do. I'm not doing it so people like me more, to more money, to be envied or anything like that. I'm not changing because I'm unhappy or even because 2008 was a bad year. Instead I'm changing for the better, because striving to be better is NEVER a bad thing. Come 2010, I'll be changing for the better AGAIN!

Ok, I'm alive. I've been incredibly busy. I'm in the process of launching the new and improved Mattieologie site and preparing, filming and writing scripts for the show. I was also in New Orleans for the holiday and had an awesome time for Christmas. More details on that later. However, when I came home I met my kitchen flooded and the ceiling bowed leaking with water so naturally I've been trying to get that taken care of. And last but not least I had a very important interview for something I can't speak on but cross your fingers for me. I have a feeling I'm going to get it.

In a nutshell, I've been busy. But 2009 is only a day and I assure that Mattieologie will be at its best and you guys - the readers - will reap its benefits. Hang tight, be patient with me and everything should be back to normal come January 5th.

My Exciting Weekend

Actually, not really. Before I headed to the holiday party my friend Anna hosted, I took a nap on the couch. There's nothing like a good slumber on your couch while the TV watches you. I was exhausted after shopping at Home Depot and figuring out how to put together the set for my show.

On Friday night, the Fiance rented "The Women" which is seriously one of the best movies I've seen this year. It covers all the relationships we have as women - mother, daughter, wife and friend. If you haven't seen it, I suggest picking it up and watching it with your closest girlfriends or your mother/daughter. It'll put all the relationships you have in total perspective.

Also, Annette Bening (who stars in the film) has some of the best one liners I've heard in the movie. Be sure to listen carefully...

Holiday Party

Last night, I went to my friend Anna's holiday party where all the girls had a gift exchange. Actually, it was a white elephant gift exchange. I ended up getting a cute Christmas shirt, which is awesome because I seriously have no Christmas gear in my closet (or my house apparently.) I gave away a cute jewelry box with some Lindt truffles inside. It was cute.

Anyways, above are the lovely Racheal, myself and the fabulous Nicole. Everyone looked so cute and we chatted the night away until 2:30am.

I'm usually not one to follow trends, but I really have been feeling one lately. A lot of designers (Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Catherine Maladrino) have been adding pockets to dresses for a couple of years. It's an unpredictable addition to a dress and maybe that why I like it.

Last week's FAB, Eva Mendes, does it again in this fabulous yellow number that honestly is my favorite look of the week. Usually, I pick a new FAB on Fridays but I can't say that anyone impressed more than Eva this past week. Her stylist is my hero.

Kim Kardashian has seriously been impressing me with her last few wardrobe choices. She's been look so chic and feminine. I love this asymmetrical, silver dress on her...i accentuates her curves without being tasteless.

I love a pretty, girly dress and Paz Vega (of The Spirit) did this look justice. I love the color (purple makes my heart smile) and the A-line silhouette. I'm telling you, the women of The Spirit have been on it lately...

So I just got my new Elle magazine in the mail yesterday and one of my favorite people, Beyonce, covers it. Now, as you know, I love magazine pictorials and this one is seriously one of my favorites. They gave B such a retro yet avant garde look. The hair, the make up - I love it all. Very editorial.

I will say though, that this is one of the smallest issues of the magazine that I've ever received. Only proving that magazine circulation is down. VERY down.

Yes, the dynamic duo is back. Justin Timberlake and T.I. have joined forces again (first on "My Love" and the later on "Dead and Gone") for a new song called "If I". It's a Timberland produced track (surprise, surprise) and my guess it's for Justin's upcoming album. No word on when yet, but suspect this song to be officially all over the place by the first week of January. Interesting song, I do enjoy that Tip is singing a little on it.

According to UK sources, Chicago rapper Kanye West plans to move to London next year to launch his clothing line, Pastelle, and intern at major fashion house like Louis Vuitton. Now I'm not sure how true this is but it's pretty interesting. Apparently, Kanye is so serious about it that even if he has to serve tea, he wants to get in at a major fashion house to learn the business of fashion.

I've checked his blog and he hasn't mentioned anything of the sort but I'm staying tuned to see what happens. I'm really interested to see what Pastelle is about. He's always present at all the European fashion weeks and shows and is thoroughly passionate about fashion.

You know I love this. She just can really do no wrong. Here, Rihanna is backstage at z100's Jingle Ball this past weekend. Performers included her beau Chris Brown, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Brandy, Natasha Bedingfield, Leona Lewis and many more.

Being the girly-girl that I am, I absolutely love a sparkly gown. Kristin Chenoweth rocks a fabulous dress for a Christmas event in Washington DC. This is such an appropriate look for the holiday especially if you're going to a formal event.

Kim Kardashian wore a pretty, gold ensemble at Spike TV's Video Game Awards. I really enjoy the whole look: her hair, the way the dress fits her, and her accessories. SOmetimes she can be a little extra but in this instance she really pulled off a put together look.

I guess you could say this goes hand in hand with my powerful vs. sexy post. Dressing for success is what I go for and encourage all of you to go for as well. I don't know if it's that time of year (because it's colder) but people have been dressing conservatively chic lately and I love it. It shows that you can dress for business but still be stylish. Here are a few examples.

Of course this is coming from the female perspective - but to me, being powerful is sexy. Especially in my mid-20's as I transition into complete and total adulthood, I believe that if you're too sexy or too attractive you can't be taken seriously. Now I get it. There a re just some people out there who are sexy. That's just what they do. At the end of the day though you're going to respect and hold the person in charge in high regard.

Now please don't misunderstand me. There's nothing wrong with being sexy. I just wondered if you had to pick one of them which one would the majority of people choose. I think that sexiness is so instantaneous and by nature the first thing we respond to. It responds to us at an emotional level and we all know making decision off of our emotions is not a good look.

With someone who is powerful, you're usually intrigued. Women love a man who's in charge because we like security. Men tend to respond to women who are in power because they can relate and seldom do they come across women who are just as powerful or more powerful than them. (And a lot of times, to men, that can be intimidating.)

Sexiness is less likely to be considered powerful than being powerful is to be considered sexy but it's possible to be considered both. I think that's why someone like Beyonce is into someone like Jay-Z. Sure, Jay may not be the most attractive guy in the world but he's powerful. He's about business. And his sexiness sure doesn't meet Beyonce's sex appeal. However, if he wasn't powerful, I think it's safe to say they wouldn't be together. That's just my opinion.

At the end of the day, the big difference is respect. When you're powerful you're respected and when you're sexy you're momentarily desired. Think of it this way: would you rather learn how to be sexy or how to be powerful? I'd much rather have Oprah teach me what she knows than Marisa Miller.

Miss Thang has got it together. I've especially been enjoying her looks lately while she's been promoting her latest film, The Spirit. And as the new spokesperson for the Calvin Klein brand, she really has it together. It's not just her really cute dresses, but she's got her accessories and outerwear game on point. I think I have yet to see a shoe she's worn (especially those Christian Louboutin she wore - FAVE!) that I don't like and VERY seldom do I see her in something that I wouldn't consider put together. She's not afraid to play with color or prints all the reason why she's so FAB!

Sure she may be a movie star but with her latest looks she's proven herself to be a style icon and a prime example of fashion.

I'm excited. I was was rooting for Britney the whole time. Now I didn't get the album myself, but it seems to me she did just fine without my purchase. Now, she's no Lil Wayne (who sold over a million copies earlier this year) but she did beat Beyonce's I Am...Sasha Fierce first week sales.

Russell Simmons’ non profit organization, Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation and Target held their annual holiday youth event last night in NYC. Celebrities including Dawn Richard (of Danity Kane), Jaslene Gonzalez, Alesha Renee, Ryan Leslie and Teyana Taylor all came out for the event geared towards youth.

Ryan Leslie took a pic with the crowd at the Rush Youth holiday party. Talk about a crowd pleaser. And now that I notice it, he’s really long.

This may be a cute picture but in real life I’m sure Ryan was wondering where security was because the girls in the front looked like they were not letting him go.

Wedding: Bridesmaid Gowns

So, As I told you today was a slow news day. Well as far as I'm concerned. Maybe it was just a way of psyching myself out so I could actually get in "Bride" mode.

That being said, I'm trying my damndest to find a bridesmaids dress so my bridal party will have an idea of what their wearing and how much every should cost.

I only have 5 bridesmaids: My sister, 3 cousins and the Fiance's childhood friend. I'm close with all of them but 3 of them are out of town. (One in Maryland, my sis in NC and the other cousin in Philly.) So to keep this organized and have them still speaking to me by the time the wedding rolls around I've decided to create a Bridesmaid Packet - with all of the information of their dress...a calendar with specific dates - like bridal shower, bachelorette party, etc...so we can ALL be on the same page. The goal is to mail out all their packets by the beginning of the year so they have more than ample time to save, book travel and whatever else.

So I've been contemplating dresses. They're all in pretty decent shape, but all with different builds so hopefully I pick the right dress. I opting for a long dress.

Maybe something like this long Alfred Sung gown.

Or should I go for something short? (It will be September in Atlanta...still relatively warm.)

Like this short Priscilla of Boston number. Short can be cute.

However, I am planning to have a later wedding like after 4pm...so it'll be a little more formal. I did take to the Bari Jay wedding collection. Here are two that I found darling...

Now I've never been a bridesmaid before. In fact, I'm the first one out of my friends/cousins to get married/have a wedding. I'm not sure. I don't want to have them get a dress they'll never wear again...

TO-DOS ON LIST: 184 | COMPLETED TO-DOS: 5

Yeah...it seems as if it were only yesterday when the Fiance proposed and I got the Rock. Then I had exactly 367 days left to plan the wedding. It's now widdled down to 284. Before you know it there'll be 100 days left and then just 2 weeks before the wedding ensues.

I'm in the process of choosing bridesmaid dresses and I have no idea what to pick. I'll be posting what I've found shortly. I need all the help I can get. Because clearly I have approximately 184 things to do before I walk down the aisle. Hey at least I got 5 things out of the way already. I think they included saying yes, wearing the ring and blogging about it.

Also, I've been doing a lot of reading and writing for the show. Consequently, 2009 will be the BIGGEST YEAR OF MY LIFE. So I'm trying to pace myself that's all.

I'm not even gonna comment just watch for yourself.

Look of the Day: Dita Von Teese

Love, love, love, love this dress. The color, the shape, the everything. Dita Von Teese is uberglamorous. Her look and style is very film noir. Nobody else is really doing what she's doing with the whole burlesque, old school glamour approach. She pulls it off very well. Anyone else would probably seem gimmicky. Not her. She's really tiny too. Have you seen her waist? (And is it just me or is she having some trouble with those shoes?)

Jessica Simpson Gets 'Fancy'

Jessica Simpson launched her new fragrance, Fancy, at Macy’s in Chicago this past weekend. I will say that Jessica’s business savvy impresses me. She was criticized so much after Newlyweds and her divorce from Nick Lachey but I think she’s pulled herself together and come a long way.

I’m a fan and very impressed with her clothing line and all the other things she has been doing. She may not put herself out there as much but please believe that she is handling her business.

Honeymoon Location: Where Should I Go?

So, with the wedding rapidly approaching (can you believe it?! - only 9 months left...) the fiance and I were talking about where we should go for the honeymoon. The plan is to vacation there for a week after the wedding. Now I've mentioned a few places and he's pretty easy going and agreed to pretty much anywhere. (As long as it's financially within reason.)

I've narrowed it down to four...

South Africa. This was originally our first choice. Only because who can really say they've been to South Africa for their honeymoon? It's not a likely honeymoon location but from what I've heard and seen...it's beautiful.

Italy. Romantic, right? I say Rome.

He says Florence. I'm just glad we've agreed on Italy as a whole.

Disneyworld. Ok I know that may seem cheesy but he's never been before and I haven't been since I was four. And c'mon...is this place ever really disappointing?

Jamaica. Do I really even need a reason?

Where do you think we should go? Help!

FAB: Beyonce

So last week’s FAB was Beyonce! She also had the look of the day (today) as well only proving that she deserves the title. As you know she’s been busy promoting her album, I Am…Sasha Fierce and her new movie, Cadillac Records, so naturally she’s been all over the place looking fabulous per usual. (Even though she had been donning a lot of black - it's a little morbid but she carries it well. No harm done I guess.)

Last Friday, (which was Jay-Z’s birthday!) she was seen with her husband at Art Basel Miami Beach where a painting of her by Johannes Weinseifer was featured.

Performances: Kanye West and Solange

Several artists were keeping busy performing all over this past weekend. My favorite rapper Kanye West performed in Sydney, Australia. Next time he performs in the states around my way, I definitely plan on seeing him. I plan on digesting as much live music (as I can afford) in 2009. But I know ‘Ye won’t leave me disappointed. I think it’s safe to say I’ve played his new album, 808’s and Heartbreak, in its entirety more than like 20 times. Yes. I like it that much. Now, it didn’t do as well Graduation but it did sell over 425,000 albums in its first week. In a recession, or compared to most artists today, that’s impressive.

Another person whose album I’ve been playing out as well…Solange. She performed in NYC at Cosmopolitan Magazine’s StarLaunch concert. From the pictures alone it seemed like a great performance. Very personal. Those are the best. When the artist jumps in the crowd and boogies with the people. My kind of show.

Look of the Day (Friday): Debra and Keri

Here are the looks of the day from Friday. (The internet was acting crazy this weekend.)

Debra Messing nabbed the LOTD with this fabulous blue number. It's such a great shade of color for her. Especially with that gorgeous red hair.

You know how I enjoy a good jumpsuit. Keri Hilson rocked one in ATL at her show looking very chic. Well done.

Kodak Moment: Hilary, Kristen and Art Basel Miami Beach

So no matter how rich or famous you get - apparently girls will be girls. Hilary Duff and Kristen Bell prove that here. I'm not sure what they're giggling about but they sure look like they're having a good time at the Avakian Boutique opening in Beverly Hills this past weekend.

At Art Basel Miami Beach, paintings of Beyonce and Barack Obama were featured. Many celebrities like Beyonce, Jay-Z, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, Pamela Anderson and others all came out to Art Basel Miami Beach to see the collections and galleries featured. ABMB is considered to be the most important art show in the United States and occurs annually in December.

Internet Problems and Mattieologie: The Show

My apologies loves. Apparently my internet took the day off. Hence, why there were no new blogs today and why I'm posting this at 3:23am. Tomorrow, even though it is Saturday I will post as if it's a work day since technically I had the day off. Hopefully, I'll get them up early.

I can't sleep...I took a little cat nap today and now I'm up. Still.

In good news though, Mattieologie: The Show is coming to a computer near you. I'll keep you posted. But it's looking like we could have some episodes up as early as next month.
